BRITNEY SPEARS’ sacred Minute Rice wedding is now a fading part of her mini-myth, but the star is still on the lookout for new talent. Britney’s choreographer, Brian Friedman, surprised her recently with a tune singer-songwriter Johnnie Mazzer found on the Internet. It’s called “Rock Me, Britney.” One of the lyrics goes, “Some say she’s over, some say she’s done...but baby, baby, baby, she’s only just begun! Spears, naturally, loved this musical show of support. (She’s kicking off a big new tour, that’s how “over” she is. Does she care that The New York Times gave her a devastating review?) Brit actually got Johnnie’s number and called him to say thanks. Said he: “I was driving in L.A. and almost wrecked the car when I picked up the phone.”

Britney invited Johnnie to come see her show.

He’s thinking it over. The handsome tunesmith posted his song for free on www.rockmebritney.com. Nice for now, but if he becomes a pop star, will he be so generous with his no-strings downloads.

Adam boots handsome stand-in. Adam Sandler just replaced his body double in his upcoming movie Spanglish, because the guy was "too damn good-looking," he says. According to a source, the man's looks were "driving Adam nuts." He finally had him replaced with a less-studly stand-in. IN TOUCH. September 6, 2004.

SADDLE BROOK — It may sound cliché: local boy leaves home to find fame and fortune in Hollywood. But for resident Johnnie Mazzer, it’s exactly what he did. These days he’s rubbing elbows with celebrities while following his dream.

Mazzer is your average boy next door, that is, if the boy next door happes to model and has a fabulous singing voice.

The Hollywood fever bit Mazzer when he was just 15 years old.

“A friend of mine took me to see a movie,” the 26-year-old said. “During the movie her sister was up on the screen. She was as big as day. I thought ‘That’s what I’ve got to do’.”

He started off as a model and worked a few jobs before being cast in what he recalls as the best job of his life.

“I worked for Saturday Night Live (SNL),” he said, “I got a few walk-on scenes and got to escort Cameron Diaz on stage.”

He smiled as he recalled how nice Diaz was.

“We were skipping through the halls. She really is a lot of fun and is so nice,” he said.

Diaz introduced Mazzer to some of the actors who were going to be on SNL that night.

“She walked up to Steve Martin and Dan Ackroyd and told them, ‘This is the hot guy that I got to walk on stage with.’”

He played a soldier in “The Siege” and a stock trader in “The Boiler Room.” Mazer also has taken on quite a few different roles in independent and student films.

Although being on the big screen started out to be his passion, he has found his voice and is hoping to break into the music world.

“I started out writing a song about Britney Spears. I have to admit it was a bit corny. But then I talked with a friend of mine who actually knew her. He called her and told her I was writing a song. I knew I had to fix it and it had to be a great song,” he said.

He wrote and sang, “Rock Me Britney,” a song dedicated to the rocker who holds a special place in Mazzer’s heart.

Once the song was completed his friend played it for Spears while she was on the phone.

“She said to me, ‘It was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me.’ I was speechless,” Mazzer said. “It was great to know someone liked your work. It was really great.”

During the off times of his career, he has had the chance to meet many celebrities. He went to dinner with Pamela Anderson, worked for a horror house designer who set up the Osborne house for Kelly’s Sweet-16 party and worked as a personal assistant for some high-paying customers.

Currently, Mazzer is working as a body double for Adam Sandler in a movie titled “Spanglish.”

Mazzer explained that a body double is the person the director calls in to test lighting and the props to make sure that a scene will look right before the stars have to work out the scene.

In his “day job” Mazzer is a bartender and is using his hard earned cash to try and build a record label for himself. He hopes to have a large corporate label buy it up so he can work on his music and promote other singers as well. His label is named Melanie Records, after his sister.

Although Mazzer started off on Claremont Avenue he is working hard to become a star on the sidewalks of Los Angeles.
